Dear Ansong,

Most of what people know has never been written down. It leaves when they do. The machine has read everything that was written, but it cannot go and ask. Someone has to go.

This summer you went. You entered two fields that were not your own, sat with people who knew what the record did not hold, and brought it back in a form others can use. Both records are now kept in Earth Library.

One thing more is worth writing down: the work exists because you asked for it. Nobody handed it to you.
