Not a scorecard. A learning framework — built to understand how world-class companies actually move a system, and what the rest of us can copy.
Nodes = companies · Edges = shared mechanisms 节点为企业,连线为共享机制
An ESG benchmark. A sustainability ranking. A letter grade.
A causal map of how systems get moved.
A rating compresses a company into a number, and the number throws away exactly the thing we came for: the sequence of decisions. Who moved first, what it cost them, whose behaviour changed downstream, and whether it survived the CEO who started it.
So the unit of study here is not performance. It is mechanism. Eighteen companies were chosen the way you choose a roundtable: wide enough to argue, small enough to listen — across energy, heavy industry, semiconductors, food, retail and mobility, across Europe, North America, Greater China and India.
A system change is one that outlives the first mover.
Every claim on this page is traced to a primary source — company report, industry initiative, or agency roadmap — listed in section 05. Figures are as reported by the source; nothing here is modelled or estimated by us.
Every company at the table is read through the same five questions, in the same sequence — from the moment a promise is made to the moment it can be copied without its author.
What did they say in public, and what did saying it cost them? A commitment is only a mechanism when it is expensive to break — a target in a bond covenant, a supplier contract, or an executive's pay.
Where did the money actually move — capex, divestment, R&D, acquisitions? The balance sheet is the only strategy document that cannot be rewritten after the fact.
Whose behaviour changed because of them? Count suppliers re-tooled, customers switched, competitors forced to answer. Influence is measured outside the firm's own boundary.
Did they change a standard, a procurement rule, a definition, a policy? Systems move when the default changes — not when one actor tries harder than the default requires.
Can it be copied without them — in a different market, at a lower margin, by a company nobody calls a leader? If not, it was excellence, not system change.
A knowledge graph is worth building only if the edges carry meaning. Six relation types were enough to connect all eighteen.
One clean-electricity requirement travelling three tiers deep into the hardware economy.
Buyers who agree to pay for the first, most expensive tonne so that a tenth tonne becomes cheap.
The common vocabulary that makes eighteen very different claims comparable at all.
Identical thermodynamic problems, opposite scales and politics. The most instructive pairs on the table.
Some companies sell the abatement that others must buy. The graph makes that dependency visible.
One opens the market and sets the desire; the other makes it affordable and therefore inevitable.
Stop scoring. No composite rating, no ranking, no letter grade. The moment a company becomes a number, the mechanism disappears — and the mechanism is the whole point.
Open the graph. The table is deliberately incomplete: no African or Latin American company sits here yet, no financier, no city government, no state utility outside China. Those seats are empty on purpose, and named so they can be filled.
In the end
One Table is not a roundtable. It is a method — for research, and for practice. Which means you can build your own table. So: who do you want to invite next?
Publisher, document and domain are given in full so each can be pulled directly and read in the original — the point of a research dossier is that you can go past it.
