Amor Fati

The Idea  ·

Love your fate — not merely accept it, but want it, exactly as it is, nothing removed.

Nietzsche
loved this

Origin  ·  來源

Rooted in Stoicism (Marcus Aurelius, Epictetus, ~2nd c. AD), then named and crystallised by Nietzsche in The Gay Science, 1882.

Today  ·

When something goes wrong today, pause before the impulse to fix or escape — and ask: what if I chose this? Not forever. Just for this breath.

The snake swallows its own tail.
The circle has no beginning to escape.

Honest Limit  ·

This can slide into passivity. Amor Fati is not a reason to leave injustice unchanged — some things should be resisted. The Stoics knew the difference; we have to, too.
