In 1973, six-year-old Phyllis Webstad, Northern Secwepemc from Stswecem'c Xget'tem First Nation, lived with her grandmother at Dog Creek. Her grandmother bought her a new orange shirt for school.1,2

At St. Joseph Mission Residential School near Williams Lake, B.C., it was taken from her and never returned.1 Her grandmother and her mother had attended the same school.3

She first told the story in 2013.2 The day grew from it.

在 Williams Lake, B.C.
